Pickup truck tires
Pickups can be a daily driver, a work truck or a tow rig, and the right tire depends on which job comes first.
LT and P-metric sizes
- P-metric tires (size starts with P) are built for lighter use and comfort
- LT tires (size starts with LT) are built for heavier loads and towing
- Use the type and size your vehicle manufacturer lists unless you have a reason to change
What to check before you choose
- Load range, such as C, D or E, which relates to how much air pressure and load a tire can carry
- Your payload and towing needs, and the tire pressure that goes with them
- Tread style: highway, all-terrain or mud-terrain, based on where you drive
- Winter use, if it matters. Only some tires carry the three-peak mountain snowflake mark.
- Whether you are changing size, which can affect speedometer accuracy and clearance
